Design, Analysis and Applications of Wearable Antennas: A Review

Wearable antennas are the vital components for Body Centric Communication (BCC). These have recently gained attention of researchers and received a great deal popularity due to their attractive characteristics opportunities. They fundamental in Wireless Area Networks (WBANs) health care, military, sports, identification purposes. Compared traditional antennas, these work close proximity human body, so performance terms return loss, gain, directivity, bandwidth, radiation pattern, efficiency, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is influenced by coupling absorption body tissues. Additionally, design size, power consumption, speed can also play paramount role. In most cases, integrated into clothes, or some they may be fixed over skin users. When considered, wearable becomes challenging, particularly when textile materials examined, high conductivity used during manufacturing process, various deformation scenarios an impact on design’s performance. To enhance overall reduce backward towards metamaterial surfaces introduced that provide degree isolation from significantly SAR. This paper discusses state-of-the-art wearable/textile/flexible with structures composed wearable/flexible substrate materials, focus single dual band antenna designs. The reviews critical issues, fabrication techniques, other factors need considered antennas. All designs presented this recent developments technology.
